RCL Rye Tavern Conversations 2016

2016 Rye Tavern Conversations

Host Overview

Goal:  To get residents having discussions prior to the Town election on March 8th at local “Rye Tavern Conversation” events/parties.  Flyer: RCL Rye Tavern Conversations 2016 Hosts

When:  Anytime the last three weeks of February (after the Primary) and the first week of March (up to March 8th).

Hosts:  A host will invite people they know, neighbors or others to their house.  The format – Pot-luck, appetizers, dinner, etc… is completely up to the Host.

What the Civic League will provide:  The RCL will provide some hand outs and informational fliers to help get conversations going.  It is hoped that the Host would configure the event so that people can gather in small groups for different conversations.   Upon request, the RCL can see if a board member could also attend.

How to get started:  Contact Steven Borne ( s.borne@comcast.net ) or Alex Herlihy ( alexherlihy@comcast.net ) with questions, but to also let us know when and where so we can keep track.   We also need to coordinate how much literature to provide and to pick up the extras.

How many Tavern Conversations are needed?:  We see this happening at the neighborhood level, so this means lots of different hosts.

Remote Florida, N. Conway and Sunday River:  For the skiing families and those in Florida we would also like to see if you can gather others who are in these neighborhoods.
