Rye Swap Shop Re-opening The Rye Swap Shop will be re-opening on a trial basis Wed. – Fri., 11-2, starting July 7. The purpose of the swap shop is to keep quality items out of the land fill. For a modest fee, the transfer station does accept items NOT allowed in the swap shop, such as electronics which go in the first door of the large building on the left, plus metal and other bulky items in the three designated dumpsters. Attendants will be continuously monitoring for compliance to ensure only acceptable items are brought to the shop such as good clothing, toys, small household items, books, etc. A list of prohibited items is posted at the shop and if such items are dropped off, there is a risk of the swap shop closing for good.
